Watch this video and I think you’ll agree - one of the first things you should do in your new home is have a fire safety drill. Work with your children to help them:
- Recognize a fire alarm
- Know what action they should take
- Know the best routes to get safely out of your house
- Know how to check and react if their room door is blocked by fire
- Know how to stop, drop and roll if their clothes or hair catch on fire
- Know where they should assemble to meet up with other family members and who they can go to for help in the neighborhood
